A busy period saw us ring just over 1000 passerines over 5 days (21st-25th sept).
This autumn was always going to be interesting in terms of numbers of fledged migrants passing through our island given the very dry summer for most of the British Isles and its potential impact on breeding birds.
From Alderney we can report that ‘so far’ the developing picture is of fair to good numbers of migrant songbirds all under the watchful eyes of one of our resident Peregrines.
