This first winter female Brambling was the pick of the birds ringed this morning. A French ringed Chiffchaff was our 19th foreign control of the year. A locally scarce Mistle Thrush was also seen today.
This first winter female Brambling was the pick of the birds ringed this morning. A French ringed Chiffchaff was our 19th foreign control of the year. A locally scarce Mistle Thrush was also seen today.
Iliacus & Coburni, these last few days have seen a few icelandic Redwings, the darker bird with the much browner undertail coverts is coburni. We get a few at the back end of each Redwing movement every autumn.

Back of camera image of a Great Crested Grebe (JH) at Braye Bay this morning on the high tide, locally very scarce, they are not seen annually, only my second one since 2016.
Thanks to the local grapevine we were delighted to catch up with these two Snow Buntings at the harbour this afternoon. Also today 3 Brent Geese and 2 Purple Sandpipers.
