An early start today ahead of the heat working on one of the off Islets Coque Lihou.
Thanks to Avanti boat tours for our safe passage, landing and extraction from this unspoilt wildlife haven.

And still they come… superb conditions overnight for the moth trap, over 100 species took some checking but nicely worked through by assistant warden Matt Scragg.
Some of the highlights below; Lilac Beauty, Cream bordered Green Pea, Buff Arches and Sand Dart.

It’s all about the moths, another bumper full trap with Naturetrek.
Webbs Wainscot, Clouded Silver, Shore Wainscot, Small yellow wave, a Longhorn ‘sp’ and a Light emerald amongst the wide variety enjoyed by the group.

A fair haul in the moth trap this morning 71 species included several Cream Spot Tiger and Poplar Hawkmoth and an influx of 500+ Diamondback’s.
