Richmond & Margaret Austin having run the Channel Islands Bird Ringing Scheme for over 20 years were today presented with original artwork by Richard Lewington by the CIBRS Chairman and Alderney Bird Observatory warden John Horton.
FLowers were presented by the bird ringing scheme’s youngest licensed ringer, Guernsey Nature commission ecologist Charlotte Burgoine in recognition of the Austins’ dedication to the organisation from which they are stepping down at the end of this year.
The gathering of the Channel Islands Bird ringers was held at the LSG headquarters at Candie Gardens, Guernsey, this morning.

‘Incoming!’ yesterdays White Stork, it didn’t hang around long, landing for just a couple of minutes before being put up by a light aircraft taking off from the airport.

Also today a Pied Flycatcher, Whinchat, 2 adult male Golden Orioles ( seen together) and two separate day roosting Nightjars were also seen.
