This morning saw the first ABO public open event, where we invited members of the public into the Nunnery grounds to have a look around and take in a bird ringing demonstration. Between 0830 and 1030 hours we managed 4 ringing demonstrations to about 50 members of the public. This will now be a weekly event with the opening day and times displayed on the Nunnery front gate.

52 birds were processed today with Willow Warbler again prominent with 21 new birds.

We spent the afternoon setting up the nets at Mannez nature reserve. This location is now back in action for the autumn migration.

Alderney resident Hilary Partridge sent in this nice shot of a Jersey Tiger moth she saw yesterday
