Some of Alderneys newest residents were recorded earlier this week during The Constant Effort Site (CES) visit, situated at the observatory site which produced a variety of very recently fledged young birds.
The CES program involves thousands of bird ringers across Europe all following the same standardised guidelines monitoring Europe’s breeding songbirds between April and August. The Channel Islands now contributes to this research through the ABO and this week’s new arrivals not previously recorded in our CES included Chiffchaff, Whitethroat, Great Tit and Stonechat.
