Today at high tide on Braye beach were 15 Black-headed Gulls, 3 Mediterranean Gulls (2 adults and 1 first-year bird) and a Sandwich Tern. At Fort Albert there were 2 adults and 1 juvenile female Peregrine.
Visiting specialist gull ringer Paul Roper joined forces with our own resident gull guru Paul Veron catching adult gulls at Mannez this morning. 3 birds were ringed, two Herring Gulls and a whopping Great Black-backed Gull. All three birds were colour-ringed adding to Alderney’s comprehensive seabird research program.
