A nice ringing session from the assistant warden Joe England at Essex farm today saw over 20 birds processed and included a new species for the year ringing totals, a Grey Wagtail. This is our 78th species ringed since March and close to the year end this takes us one ahead of the total of 77 species ringed on Alderney since 1945. Other new birds ringed included 9 Long tailed tits, 2 Starlings and 1 Blackbird.
