This brilliant picture of a Dartford warbler was taken in Alderney by my Guernsey friend Chris Bale. It is not a fluke but the result of hours watching, planning and executing the take as he described to a friend:
“Tricky birds, Berni. I put hours in to this. I was there without camera for 9 hours. I was there, with camera for 25 mins. It was there for 25 seconds and I took 6 photos, of which this is one, which took about 1/2000th of a second……and then I left. Alot of effort for one image. But worth it.”
