This morning Matt & I took out a private tour group from the UK. Amongst an impressive variety of everything the runs-crawls slithers- burrows- fly’s and swims that we found was a striking little beetle that we have never seen before that goes by the Latin name only of Cryptocephalus vittatus.
It appears this species is not found on mainland UK and is very rare in the Bailiwick Islands, the two we discovered look to be the first record in Alderney since 1897, and only the 2nd time the species has ever been recorded here. Image (JH)
