This morning the Long-eared Owl found yesterday was still present in the census area. A long day in the field yesterday took some totting up as 603 birds were ringed, this figure just shy of our highest total in one day. Highlights were our first ever October record of Wryneck, 7 White Wagtails, 4 Firecrests and a rather interesting pale grey ‘ form’ of Barn Swallow.
