Other reports today were of a Kingfisher near Mannex lighthouse and our first Kittiwake of the year, a first year bird hugging the shoreline briefly in the company of 4 Black headed Gulls. Today also saw a light but steady passage of Swallows.

Paul Veron managed a short seawatch this morning reporting :Manx S – 8 west, Balearic S    -1 west and 6 east and 12 present on the sea, Great Skua   1 west and Med Gull 1 west.

Finally, in the pine trees along Longis Road towards the lighthouse there were two very young Sparrowhawks this afternoon, this would appear to verify the successful breeding of this species this year.
