After storm Angus saw 90mph + winds we woke to find one of our huge front gates ripped off its hinges, a few tiles from the out buildings in the yard. Across the island several trees were down.
An inspection of the furled nets in the morning put up 2 Woodcocks at Longis reserve. There was a Grey Wagtail in Barrackmasters lane.
For a short spell this afternoon the wind dropped right off and we opened a few nets for about an hour before rain set in again. 7 New birds were ringed: 2 Chiffchaffs, 1 Blackcap, 1 Goldcrest and 3 Chaffinches.
