A very warm and sunny day here today, but rather windy. A new moth for the Obs trap was L-Album Wainscot. Paul Veron confirmed that 12 Shag pulli were ringed on the isnaldn of Burhou yesterday, taking the total of Shags ringed here to 673. The long-term study of Shags on Alderney has demonstrated a decline in the number of chicks per nest dropping from 3 or 4 per nest to 2 or sometimes just 1 in recent years.
